To host your own mail server with another provider for the domain in your account, you have to define the mail server names as Mail Exchange or MX records.
Note: You should know the name of the mail server and its priority level. DNS updates can take up to two hours to take effect.
- Log in to Account Manager.
- Select the domain that you want to edit from the drop-down under My Domain Names. Click the Go button.
- Select Change Where Domain Points in the green box.
- Select Advanced DNS and click Continue.
- Click Edit MX Records in the Mail Servers (MX Records) section.
- The current MX records are listed and can be edited.
- Add or edit the MX record in the Mail Server text box. Enter or edit the corresponding priority number in the Priority text box.
- Click Continue.
- Review the list of requested changes.
- Click Continue.
